The Speaker of the House serves as a facilitator and administrator for the Senate meetings. Before the meetings begin, he will compile a list of discuss items and order of business for the meeting itself. All discuss items will be sent to the Speaker via Private Message (PM) on the forums.
During the meetings themselves, the Speaker will run the show. It is up to him to introduce a topic, call upon the person who introduced it to explain their idea, or if that person is not present, to explain the idea itself. Depending on the item, some brief discussion will be held, again facilitated by the Speaker. Also, if anything needs to be clarified, it is up to the Speaker to ensure that this occurs prior to the vote. Once the topic has been introduced, explained, and clarified, the Speaker will then lead the vote, keeping track of the results and logging them for implementation.
