The Raid Coordinator is the member of the Legion who plans and organizes raids. It is his job to set a time and place for the raid to begin, to list information on what the raid is and what it drops, and to organize and control who receives the drop.
Prior to the raid actually launching, it is the Coordinator's job to make sure that everyone knows what the drop at the end of the raid is going to be, take note of who needs or wants the drop, then facilitates the acquisition of said drop. If multiple people need the drop, then a dice roll will be the deciding factor on who takes the loot.
During the raids themselves, the Raid Coordinator is the leader and the final word. What they say goes. They plan and direct the raid, informing everyone of what to expect and possible ways to deal with the upcoming threats. The Raid Coordinator should have an expert understanding and knowledge of the raid in which the group is going to attempt. If the Raid Coordinator himself is not the resident expert on scene for that given raid, he should turn over command to that individual that is most likely to guarantee success, but only for the actual run through of the raid. It is still up to the Raid Coordinator to schedule and plan the event.
As alluded to above, the Raid Coordinator should be the resident expert in the Legion on Raiding and PvE. Early in the game, this position is going to be lead by the person who has the most pre SWTOR raid experience and who wants the job, but as we get to know one another and our roles and capabilities are more understood, the position will be earned.
The Raid Coordinator falls under the Field Marshal's Office and answers to the Field Marshal.
